Are there tools that can help determine connectivity in the marine environment

Within Australia the tool CONNIE, which is up at http://www.per.marine.csiro.au/aus-connie/quickGuide.html, can be used to look at sources and sinks around Australia (it maps statistics on particle diffusion through time from high resolution hydrodynamic models for around Australia) . More finely resolved products are in the mix (as an example there is a Northwest shelf application at http://www.per.marine.csiro.au/connie/nwsjems.html).

I'm not familiar with tools for other nations, but without something like CONNIE there would be a gaping hole
