Looking for a Practical Research Question for a Masters Thesis on Marine Spatial Planning

I am a graduate student in Geography and I am looking for ideas for my
Masters thesis. My interest is marine spatial planning. Ideally, I
would like to research possible methods of monitoring the newly formed
MPAs that are a result of California's MLPA, but I am open to other
suggestions and geographic areas that concern the integration of
marine ecology and socioeconomics. I am hoping that this thesis will
give me a strong background in this realm so that I can continue on
the same course professionally after I am done with it. I would like
to start working on this immediately and finish by December. With such
a short time frame, it will help if I can jump on board a project that
is already in the works. I would really like to make this relevant to
current marine spatial planning issues.
