Tools for determining marine connectivity (FATQ #1)

Hello EBM tools listserver folks,

So lots of people have been asking the EBM Tools Network to provide more information on tools and toolkits for specific purposes on our main web pages. We figured that we would start tackling this issue by figuring out some of the most frequently-asked tool questions (FATQs) and answering those questions as best we can in a concise manner and putting that information up on the website. So we have gone through lots (lots) of EBM needs assessments and surveys and reports and training evaluations and have a list of 23 FATQs in hand. And we are going to feed them to you one at a time (in no particular order) to get community input on the answers we put up on the website. So here goes:

Frequently-Asked Tool Question #1: Are there tools that can help determine connectivity in the marine environment?

Please let us know:

1) Tools you would recommend for determining connectivity in the marine environment (obviously) and some specifics about how the tool works

2) Any other must-have resources that an EBM practitioner diving into this realm should know about

3) Your ruminations on how well existing tools meet this need
