Aloha EBM Tools list:

My colleagues at NOAA's Pacific Services Center in Honolulu are developing a five-day "climate adaptation for coastal communities" training course for US and international delivery.

Background: The Climate Change Adaptation for Coastal Communities course is a sequential and modular training course for coastal management professionals (state and local resource managers, planners, and program administrators) on fundamental concepts and skills to support integration of climate adaptation planning in coastal communities. Core modules (101 level) are organized in a climate change adaptation (CCA) framework that targets foundational (Modules 1 - 3) and process (Modules 4 - 7) content and skills.

Overarching Goal: To assist agencies and organizations in identifying impacts of climate change on assets and resources they are mandated to manage and linking partners needed to pro-actively address these impacts.

The course developers are currently preparing for a dry run. In the process, they have beome aware of other climate change adaptation training programs, and expressed interest in knowing more about other training courses and workshops.

I have volunteered to create a list of climate change adaptation workshops and training courses. If you are interested in sharing your efforts, please send me the details (goal, background, dates, intended audience, etc) of your programs. While this list will primarily be shared with NOAA colleagues and their partners, I am happy to maintain an email list of people interested in being aware of new climate change adaptation workshops and training opportunities as they arise.

Thank you (mahalo) for your interest,

- Laura Hamilton
